About Worship at Saint Gabriel

What to expect at our Sunday services – Hope, Reverence, Joy, Welcome, Love.

Today, to walk through the doors of a church is a step of hope and often courage. We are glad you may take that step - a step toward true worship and perhaps a step toward finding "home."

A Shared Life

Human beings are created in God’s image for worship. Saint Augustine held that our hearts are restless until they find their rest in God. God, in mercy, doesn’t leave us to grope and grasp on our own, but comes to us, seeks us, finds us, and welcomes us home. A good home is what we experience when we come to worship God together as God’s people.

A good home is where burdens are lifted and joys confirmed. A good home is where healthy meals are enjoyed, stories told and re-told, and life is shared.

Our simple aim is to be the place where Jesus invites people home.

Joyful Christ-centered Celebration

Every Sunday we celebrate and give thanks for God’s many gifts, chiefly God’s gift of Jesus Christ.  We pray and celebrate Communion (also known as the Eucharist, Lord’s Supper or Mass) at each service.

Biblical liturgy and music

Our liturgy narrates the biblical story of salvation. It always includes readings from the bible with a sermon that addresses how we fit into God’s Great Story, and how God’s Great Story applies to our lives today. Our congregation sings hymns and Christian songs together, led by our choir.

Authentic while Ancient

In general, some folks at St. Gabriel put on their Sunday best – while others wear whatever strikes them for the moment. It is Colorado after all! We may be more formal than some in our worship format, but we are also friendly and relaxed. You won’t be singled out or asked to do anything awkward. You are invited to stay for a cup of coffee, but we won’t pressure you to do so. We would like to introduce ourselves and get to know you. And if you care to tell us, we’d like to hear about what led you to attend.

We trust you will find a community of people seeking to worship and love God, follow Jesus, and be transformed in the power of the Holy Spirit. We are simply people embracing the way of Christ – the way of love – fellow pilgrims in the movement Jesus set in motion over 2,000 years ago.

Love and Compassion

At the end of the day, we are people from different walks of life who have a diversity of life experiences. We at Saint Gabriel are far from perfect. We have burdens that we carry and joys that we celebrate. May we simply encourage you to come?

Seasonal Schedule

From September through May we offer two Sunday morning liturgies at 8am and 10:15am. In the summer we have one morning liturgy at 9am plus a quietly contemporary service at 5pm we call The Gathering. This smaller congregation loves to welcome guests, and is a great way to meet people.

To all who are weary and in need of rest;
to all who mourn and long for comfort;
to all who feel lost and worthless and wonder if God even cares;
to all who fall and desire victory;
to all who sin and need a Savior;
to all who hunger and thirst for justice and righteousness;
and to whoever else will come,
this church opens wide her doors and offers welcome
in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
